Welcome!

Click the photos for a larger/complete image.

I ran into a few technical problems earlier, so if you see that a photo isn't responding- click it anyway. It'll bring you to the larger image. Also, the post for my Brooklyn Bridge photo is missing, but you can still check it out using the link in my Blog Archive. Strange, I know.

Teabagging

2008, "Handy"

I thought I'd start off where I started the semester: the bathroom. I chose the walls because they contrast the green cup so well.

2008, "Seismic"

Not many people know there's a light house in Jersey City. The red and white striped remind me of the cat in the hat.

2008, "Newark Scavenger Hunt"

One of the items for the scavenger hunt was architectural texture. Here, the grittiness of the older building juxtaposes the streamlined, smooth, newer one

2008, "Monumental"

I usually find pay phones unpleasant. However, their large size in this image seems to invite you to push them. They're clean, too. : )

Sock Drawer

2008, "Monumental"

Internet killed the card-catalog. However, it still makes a good subject. Here, I not only tried to make the drawers seem larger but endless, as well.

Ferry

2008, "Planes, Trains, and Automobiles"

Though this isn't one of the aforementioned modes of transportation, I thought ferries were an equally important part of the Manhattan commute.

Brooklyn Bridge

2008, "NY/NJ"

Although this isn't New Jersey, the coziness of the Brooklyn cafe contrasts with the Manhattan background, quite well. :)

I was referring to my socks too. : )

And they say New Yorkers aren't nice. : )

2008, "Picture Book"

For the Picture Book assignment, I chose the story of Snow White. I tried to make each image in the series appear timeless- though the princess against a modern background turns out quite well, here.

2008, "Seismic"

After sitting on a bench for nearly thirty minutes, a truck behind me honked its horn. It frightened the birds so they started flying everywhere. In turn, I began to freak out.

Not Actual Size

2008, "Monumental"

I chose a bag of chips as one of my subjects for this assignment because I've always wondered what it would be like if food was that big.

2008, "Self-Motivated"

I didn't even have to fiddle with the camera to attain the hyper-saturated quality of the flowers. It was mostly due to the beautiful weather, which can also be seen through the contrast between light and shadow in the background.

Snow White + Apple

2008, "Picture Book"

I wonder how many people will notice that when Snow White was poisoned, she was in the home of the seven dwarfs. I chose to take this picture outdoors for the natural lighting.

2008, "Newark Scavenger Hunt"

I bought this in the dollar store for the scavenger hunt. I believe it's supposed to pour milk. It's interesting to see what you can reap using a minimal amount of colors and space.

2008, "Newark Scavenger Hunt"

For the scavenger hunt, I decided to hit two birds one stone. Here, I photographed a woman in the dollar store.

I have recently gotten into the habit of asking my customers to model for me.

2008, "Self-Portrait"

Just thought I'd finish things where my work started, and most days end: the bathroom.
